Good morning! Happy Monday! Did you watch the Prime Time Emmy’s last night? The Red Carpet was FANTASTIC – one of the best that I can remember!
Here are some of my highlights:
Juliana Margulies and her Giambattista Valli Haute Couture reminded me of an Impressionist painting – mind you, she could wear a potato sack and look stunning, so… regardless she is going to be a winner

Heidi Klum in Alexandre Vauthier – simply stunning!

Emily Van Camp in J. Mendel – this dress is so flattering! I always love that about J. Mendel frocks – they show off a woman’s best parts perfectly!

Julianne Hough looks like a mermaid princess in this Georges Hobeika – that color on her is divine!:)

Good Lord but Sofia Vergara is gorgeous in this Zuhair Murad aqua-colored gown…sooooo beautiful!
(reason #1, 421, 481 why Sofia is absolutely the most awesome person ever – the ass of her dress split during the live Emmy’s telecast, so she had her assistants put it back together for her so she could go onstage with her castmembers…but she also had someone take a picture of her butt sticking out of her dress and tweeted it! Awesome! Mind you, if my arse looked that gorgeous and perfect, I’d be tweeting it all the time, too)

Some people have been dumping on the divine Zooey Deschanel and her Reem Acra gown, calling it too Cinderella-y (FYI – there is no such thing)…I think it’s beautiful, the color on her is perfection, and she looks lovely. I wish I could wear princess dresses like this every day (and I’m not even joking a little bit)

Claire Danes does maternity chic like nobody’s business in this vibrant Lanvin - she looks positively radiant (that hot man on the end of her arm doesn’t exactly hurt her overall appearance, either). Did you hear her acceptance speech? How about Mandy Patinkin? Holla! That was the BEST!

I love this Vivienne Westwood on Tina Fey – and Tina looks beautiful, but somehow it doesn’t look all that comfortable. However, comfort probably isn’t the priority, eh?

Nicole Kidman’s Antonio Berardi was breathtaking…goodness it was gorgeous! It looks like iridescent blue wings on the front… soooo pretty!

Hayden Panettiere’s Marchesa was GORGEOUS!! I don’t think Hayden has EVER looked better (that color blue just kills me…perfection!)
There were A LOT of other really stunning gowns – and all of the men looked fantastic, too – be sure to check out this slideshow from the New York Times for full coverage
What did you think of the fashion last night?
xxx

Jennifer Lopez in Gucci – a beautiful, dramatic look, don’t you think?
Sarah Jessica Parker in McQueen – very pretty
Beyonce in Emilio Pucci – I don’t really care for this dress much at all, and sadly I think she looks like sausage busting out of its casing…it doesn’t do a thing for her figure.
Ashley Greene in Donna Karan – stunning
Blake Lively in Chanel – some people didn”t care for this dress, but I think it’s realllllly pretty
Taylor Swift’s J. Mendel frock was also panned by some of the critics, but I think she looks BEAUTIFUL!
Miranda Kerr and husband Orlando Bloom – I’m not digging her Marchesa dress at all, which is surprising as I usually LOVE Marchesa, but…this one isn’t doing much for me.
Kristen Stewart in Proenza Schouler - certainly eye-catching, eh? What do you think?
Gwyneth Paltrow in Stella McCartney – she looks AMAZING, but…isn’t this a look we’ve seen from her a zillion times? Although, I guess there is something to be said for the theory ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’.
Jennifer Hudson in Vera Wang – very pretty
Rihanna in Stella McCartney… I just don’t know. I’m not digging it. What do you think?
This picture is STUNNING – Gisele is flawless in archive McQueen, and the arm candy she’s rocking ain’t half bad, either. Look at her…can you imagine waking up to that sight in the mirror every day? Sadly, neither can I.
For whatever reason, Madonna’s fashion choices of late have been annoying me - however, she did a lot to fix that last night. This Stella McCartney is very flattering on her, and is age-appropriate, as well (meaning she’s not trying to look 18 again, as she’s been guilty of lately) – the color is beautiful.
Demi Moore is wearing Prabal Gurung, with a Phillip Treacy fascinator on her head (channeling the Royal Wedding, no doubt) -I find that this outfit makes her look somewhat severe, although it certainly is eye-catching and attention-grabbing. What do you think?
Mary-Kate Olsen in Givenchy – I think it looks like a housecoat my mother wore in 1979…and not in a good way.
Ashley Olsen’s Dior Couture is better than her sister’s dress, but even it looks somewhat off. Maybe it’s just me.
Penelope Cruz in Oscar de la Renta, showing everybody how it ought to be done.
I LOVE Emma Stone’s Lanvin, don’t you? It is SO flattering on her
Michelle Williams in Miu Miu…okay, I guess. Nothing overly special.
Salma Hayak in McQueen – this is my best of the night…she looks AMAZING!!! That dress is to die for – GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dianna Agron in Michael Kors – simply delightful.
Lea Michele in Escada - soooo pretty!
Claire Danes in Calvin Klein – very beautiful, but I feel like she almost always looks like this, don’t you?
Liv Tyler’s Givenchy Haute Couture is a wee bit Big Bird, but man do I ever love this one! This is what the Met Gala should be about!!
Normally I adore Amy Adams and I LOVE L’Wren Scott, but I am not digging this dress AT ALL.
Julianne Hough’s Burberry gown reminds me of a Monet painting…I love it!
Dakota Fanning’s Valentino is PERFECTION (and SO age-appropriate) – I LOVE IT!
The color of this Stella McCartney that Eva Mendes is wearing is spectacular, don’t you think?
I find myself loving and hating this Chanel Haute Couture on Kirsten Dunst at the same time. I need to ponder this one further, I think…I’m just not sure what to think about it.
I love the color of Isla Fisher’s Tory Burch gown, don’t you?
Christina Ricci in Zac Posen – no no no
Evan Rachel Wood in Gucci – SO pretty!
I am crazy about this Thakoon that Mia Wasikowska wore – LOVE IT!
Naomi Campbell wore this McQueen gown…it looks like an angelic piece of art, don’t you think?

These two looks from the 3.1 Phillip Lim show are GORGEOUS – check out the cut of those pants…I die!!
These looks from Alice + Olivia looks EXACTLY like something I would want to wear – cute, practical, comfortable, stylish. I love them!
These Badgley Mischka frocks are STUNNING!! If only I had a red carpet somewhere to wear them….
I’m really not sure where I’d wear this outfit by Betsey Johnson, but I bet it’d be a hell of a good time!
The cut of this Carolina Herrera dress nearly makes me weep, it is so perfect….sigh.
I may covet this Carolina Herrera dress more than I’ve ever coveted a dress…I LOOOOOOOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loooove these two Christian Siriano dresses – I love the way he designs! His clothes seem to have exquisite movement – I likey!
I think this Diane von Furstenberg is lovely, don’t you?
This Elie Tahari is SO beautiful!
Normally when I envision Halston, I picture drapey stuff – this dress looks so different to me…and I LOVE IT!!
I loooove these Isaac Mizrahi looks so much (and I’m embarrassed to tell you how that pink poodle delights me…even though I know you’re not supposed to change the color of animals) – isn’t that last gown exquisite??!
This J. Mendel dress is beautiful
I found this year’s L.A.M.B. collection to be so much more wearable than some of the previous collections…love these two looks!
I hope to some day be the kind of woman who could rock these clothes…these L’Wren Scott dresses are AMAZING!!!

You can always count on Marchesa to bring the drama – these clothes are FANTASTIC!!!
In my fantasy world, Monique Lhuillier and I are friends, she makes me dresses and I wear them EVERYWHERE (even to the grocery store), and in return I tutor her children (does she have children?) and wash her dishes. Isn’t my fantasy world awesome??!
These dresses by Oscar de la Renta are beautiful – isn’t that turquoise one exquisite? (although I think it would look better if the model had a bit of a boob rack to hold it in place…it doesn’t look right at the top)
